I’m just back from a trip there where I ogled the ladies strolling on 5th Avenue for a few days…wondering where the heck they were going so dressed up, how in the world they looked so good, and how I had apparently missed the memo that went out to all fashionistas saying that all black outfits with one single touch of blazing red are the hottest thing since Twitter. ( Another thing I’m getting way too into lately).

I came across a video on Fall Style in the New York Times website that was essentially this charming old man walking around midtown saying exactly what I had been saying to myself. I mean the point is a splash of brightness, like a little sunlight for the darkening days…could it be orange or yellow, or pink? Personally I don’t think the effect would be the same. I say red or nothing. Anyone think an orange or pink Chanel handbag could have the same effect?
