GET THE LOOK: Pixie Lott’s Louis Vuitton pochette

getthelook_pixie_lott_louis_vuitton.jpg

Well, it seems these days to be a pop star you need a couple of things – a smash hit song (yup, fair enough), a fairly revealing wardrobe (just ask Lady Gaga!) and whaddaya know: a designer bag (helps if it’s Louis Vuitton, too).

Pixie Lott has burst onto the scene at a rather rapid rate, but that hasn’t stopped her from quickly donning the pop star ‘look’ and of course, building up her handbag collection.

If you’ve got secret pop star aspirations of your own, then you can always fast track requirement number three (LV acquisition) so just in case you are discovered by Simon Cowell, you’ve already got the bag thing down pat. We like this Pochette Tulum in the monogram canvas, which is similar to the one Pixie is holding. It’s small, but you’ll have an entourage to carry all of your belongings anyway! It’s priced at £220 from Louis Vuitton.

ASK THE BAG LADY: Your questions answered

- There is a bag that claudia schiffer is carrying that appears in sunday mirror mag (14.9.08). Would you be able to find out the make at all? so many thanks if you can and for trying. – Chris

Hi Chris, unfortunately I couldn’t nab myself a copy of the Sunday Mirror mag to see which bag exactly had caught your eye. But my guess is it is the bag above, as Claudia has been photographed with it quite often this year, and in particular around the end of August/early September which is the date of the mag you mentioned. This bag is a YSL Muse Two, in beige leather, and as you can see, looks fantastic whether you’re in your trackies or looking glam in a patent trench! It’s not cheap ($1,995) but looks set to become one of those timeless classics you’ll never regret purchasing.

Fendi Rose Zucca Chef Bag

Fendi Rose Zucca Chef Bag

Is it just me, or does the Fendi Rose Zucca Chef Bag look like it really wishes it was born a Louis Vuitton instead?

When you’re dealing with a design element as obvious as graphic roses layered over logo canvas, it’s hard not to draw parallels between this and the Stephen Sprouse collection that garnered so much attention last season for Vuitton. I wonder if Fendi’s accessories designers would even be able to keep a straight face while they were claiming that this isn’t a ripoff.

And it’s not even a halfway attractive ripoff. The Vuitton bags were successful because not only did they feature the art of a widely respected pop artist, but they were also visually quite interesting. The roses were robust and colorful, and they overshadowed the traditional monogram on which they sat.

The Fendi handbags, on the other hand, is just kind of sad. The roses are boring and small, and they do nothing to spruce up the zucca print fabric that we’re all used to seeing. Find your own gimmick, Fendi – Vuitton’s already got this one on lock.

The Denim Spy

7

In keeping with our consistency of featuring every single version of the Spy Bag available, here it is in denim. In general, denim bags are totally trailer trash but with all the detailings in the embroidery on this Denim Spy, it just makes it all the more decadent (especially when it’s $3,090 for a denim bag)! And you know us, we bathe in decadence. (But it’s all in the details, I tell you, because the Hobo Denim Spy is just trashy and should not be confused with what we are talking about here, although we would never seriously carry a denim bag). Fendi Bags are available at eLuxury.
